The Rapids, 97 Rock present 'The Sound Remains The Same' Led Zeppelin anniversary concert

Leading Led Zeppelin tribute "The Sound Remains The Same" brings its full production to The Rapids Theatre on Main Street in Niagara Falls on Sunday July 15. The show features a one-time-only, live re-creation performance of the original July 15, 1973, Led Zeppelin Buffalo Memorial Auditorium concert in its entirety.

To commemorate this classic historic concert event, the show will be recorded for an upcoming DVD release.

Ortt announces concert plans for Gratwick Riverside Park

North Tonawanda Mayor Robert G. Ortt announced at a press conference the plans for a concert on Sunday, July 15, at Gratwick Riverside Park. The show will begin at 4 p.m.

Representatives of headline sponsor Cornerstone Community Federal Credit Union and several other high-level North Tonawanda officials joined Ortt in announcing Buckcherry with Fuel will be the featured bands performing at what Ortt said is one of the most beautiful venues along the Niagara River.

The concert will be free for everyone attending; however, there will be a $5 charge for parking at the park. Food and beverage will be sold at the venue, and no food, backpacks, or coolers will be permitted at the park for this event.

The Fabulous Thunderbirds play Niagara Falls July 6

The Fabulous Thunderbirds featuring Kim Wilson will playing at the Bear's Den Showroom, at the Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel, 310 Fourth St., Niagara Falls, at 8 p.m. on Friday, July 6.

For more than 30 years, The Fabulous Thunderbirds have been the quintessential American band. The group's distinctive and powerful sound, influenced by a diversity of musical styles, manifested itself into a unique musical hybrid via such barnburners as "Tuff Enuff" and "Wrap It Up."

Steve Vai performs at UB

Steve Vai is a virtuoso guitarist, visionary composer, and consummate producer. At age 12, he started taking guitar lessons from Joe Satriani. At 18, he began his professional musical career transcribing for, and then playing with, the legendary Frank Zappa. More than three decades, 15-million in album sales, and three Grammy Awards later, Vai has proven himself, in his own right, one of music's true originals.

Vai performs at the University at Buffalo Center for the Arts at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22.

World premiere comedy at Ghostlight Theatre

The world premiere comedy "Regrets Only," by L. Don Swartz, will be presented at the Ghostlight Theatre, 170 Schenck St., North Tonawanda. The show is on stage May 3 at 7 p.m.; May 4, 5, 11, 12, 18 and 19 at 8 p.m.; and on May 20 at 2 p.m.

"Regrets Only" features Joann V. Mis and Debby Koszelak Swartz as two grumpy Polish ladies, Lottie and Bernice, who crash a wedding reception and turn the celebration into a hysterical nightmare. "Regrets Only" is the fifth installment of the popular "Lottie & Bernice" series, following "Get Off My Cabbage," "The Lottie & Bernice Show," "Here We Sit" and "Danse Macabre."

NFTA reaches agreement with Funtime for summer concerts at outer harbor

The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority announced today that it has reached a licensing agreement with Funtime After Dark LLC to be the NFTA's waterfront concert promoter for the 2012 summer season.

Funtime plans on using the seven-acre site located on the outer harbor in the vicinity of the former Pier Restaurant to hold concerts from a variety of musical genres, including alternative, Canadian, southern and folk rock. Ticket prices will range from $30 pre-sale to $100 for a VIP ticket. Parking charges will range from $5 to $10.

Seneca casinos will deliver fall-out-of-your-seat laughter to welcome the start of spring.

On Saturday, March 24, "Blue Collar Comedy Tour" co-founder Bill Engvall comes to Seneca Niagara Events Center in Niagara Falls USA. Engvall will mix humor and lighthearted views on everyday events during his performance at Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel. Limited tickets remain on sale for the 8 p.m. show and start at $40.

Engvall currently hosts the game show "LINGO" on GSN and continues to tour periodically with fellow "Blue Collar" comedians Jeff Foxworthy and Larry the Cable Guy. The former American Comedy Awards Comic of the Year also starred in numerous television shows, including "Mobile Home Disasters," "The Bill Engvall Show" and "Country Fried Home Videos."
