Gov. Kathy Hochul and Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz on Monday announced an agreement between New York state, Erie County and the NFL's Buffalo Bills franchise for a $1.4 billion new stadium in Orchard Park. Hochul's negotiations secured a 30-year commitment for the Bills to remain in Buffalo, and a combined $550 million from the NFL and Bills - approved by the NFL owners.

DEC environmental conservation police officers investigated nine hunting-related shooting incidents (HRSIs) in 2021, including one fatality.

Krown Undercoating 358 Modified drivers and Ransomville "Hot Wheels" Greg Martin and "The Renegade" Ryan Susice has been named the head starter and race director for the season at the "Little R."

The Niagara County Department of Public Works on Thursday announced Tom Yeager, the longtime PGA golf pro at the Niagara County Golf Course in Lockport, will be retiring after two decades working for Niagara County and more than 40 years in the golf profession. Yeager's retirement is official on March 18.

Registration is now open for Parks & Trails New York's 24th annual Cycle the Erie Canal tour, an opportunity to bike across New York on part of the Empire State Trail and "take in the rich history of the legendary canal that transformed America." The eight-day, 400-mile recreational bicycle tour from Buffalo to Albany is scheduled for July 10-17.

It coincides with National Hunting and Fishing Day, which is celebrated annually to promote outdoor activities like hunting, fishing and target shooting. New York provides anglers with six "Free Fishing Days" each year.

"Money" Mat Williamson from St. Catharines, Ontario, and Middleport's Derek Wagner won the Sid and Carol Jeffery Memorial events for the Krown Undercoating Modifieds and Investor's Service Sportsman respectively Friday night at the Ransomville Speedway. For Williamson, it was his third victory of the season at "The Big R." For Wagner, it was his second triumph of the season.

For the fourth time at the "Big R" in 2021, Newfane's Scott Kerwin was victorious, this time in the inaugural Mike Bonesky Memorial for the Investor's Service Sportsman in round one of the Western Region for the Sportsman Super DIRTcar Series.

The Division of Consumer Protection and the Governor's Traffic Safety Committee (GTSC) are alerting New Yorkers of all ages of the importance of wearing a helmet when riding a bike. A new CDC report revealed bicycle-related deaths nationally increased between 2009 and 2018, primarily among adults. Males were three times more likely than females to end up in the hospital with traumatic brain injuries.

With the rainout this past Friday night, Ransomville Speedway will try again and open the gates for the first time in 2021 on Friday, May 14, with the running of the Mackenzie Kulesza Memorial for the Sunflowers of Sanborn Mini Stocks. The 36-lap event is in honor of Mackenzie Kulesza, the 11-year-old who died tragically following a car accident in November 2020.
