Artpark & Company will present a new music festival that celebrates the beginning of a new season and the unification of communities through music, dance and art. The Strawberry Moon Festival will be held from 3-11 p.m. Saturday, June 22, in the Artpark Amphitheater.

"The Royal Affair Tour," featuring British prog-rock legends YES, Asia, John Lodge of The Moody Blues, and Carl Palmer's ELP Legacy with guest vocalist Arthur Brown, will take the stage in the Artpark Amphitheater on June 25 as part of "Tuesdays in the Park presented by M&T Bank." Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday.

Republican Assemblyman Angelo J. Morinello joined his colleagues and direct-care workers at an Albany rally calling for the inclusion of increased funding for direct-care workers in the 2019-20 New York state budget. The Assembly majority allocated $57.4 million in new funding for the continuation of the direct care-worker salary increase for individuals whose salary is funded through Medicaid. This will be funded Jan. 1 through March 31, 2020.

Jacobs calls for increase in EPF funding

Republican New York State Sen. Chris Jacobs has joined with local elected officials in calling on Gov. Andrew Cuomo and legislative leaders to include an increase in the state's Environmental Protection Fund in the final state budget. The EPF was created in 1993 to provide funding for broad categories of projects related to solid waste, parks and recreation and open space. Jacobs is seeking to grow the fund from $300 million to $350 million this year.
National Comedy Center officially designated as US cultural institution dedicated to comedy

The National Comedy Center was formally designated Tuesday as the nation's official cultural institution dedicated to the art form of comedy. In a bipartisan show of support, both the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives passed this bill in February, and the president signed it into law this week, recognizing the Center as the "Official National Comedy Center of the United States."
