On July 18, Master John Presti, owner of Presti Karate Centers in Lewiston and Niagara Falls, was honored and promoted to the rank of 9th degree black belt. Presti is one of 14 black belts worldwide to earn this rank under Grand Master Chuck Norris since Norris became a black belt in the 1960s.

The Niagara Falls Community Development Department is seeking purchase/renovation proposals for 520 Hyde Park Blvd., due Sept. 1. The 78,000-square-foot building, on a three-acre site between Ferry and Walnut avenues, is the former home of the Niagara Falls Police Department and City Court (vacant since 2008).

Mayor Paul A. Dyster on Thursday announced the selection of TM Montante Development as preferred developer for prime downtown development parcels located along 7th and Niagara streets in the City of Niagara Falls. The multiphase, approximately $5 million project will transform the structures located 610, 614 and 624 Niagara St. and the adjacent vacant parcels of 414-428 7th St., into a mixed-use facility in the heart of the downtown corridor.

Empire State Development on Monday announced the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Graycliff Estate in Derby is to receive $3.7 million in Buffalo Billion phase two funding to fully bring the property back to its 1931 condition. The $4,047,000 project will include complete interior restoration of the Isabelle Martin House and the Foster House, landscaping improvements and rebuilding beach access.

Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo recently announced the expansion of An-Cor Industrial Plastics in North Tonawanda. Audubon Women's Medical Associates PC has announced it will move this fall to 2240 N. Forest Road, which is 1.5 miles from its current location at 1360 N. Forest Road (near Maple Road). Founded in 1993, the all-female OB-GYN practice will move into a 14,500-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility. The old location was 8,600 square feet.
