USA Niagara Development Corp. and Savarino Companies - a Buffalo-based construction, development and property management firm - have completed the restoration and redevelopment of the historic Tugby-Lennon block at 320-324 Niagara St., Niagara Falls. The block consists of three attached historic structures located in the heart of Niagara Falls, steps from the Seneca Niagara Casino, the developing Third Street neighborhood, and just minutes from Niagara Falls State Park.

Congressman Brian Higgins hailed action by the U.S. Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp. (PBGC) to approve $963.4 million in special financial assistance to the New York State Teamsters Conference Plan. The move will cover 33,643 New York Teamster workers, including approximately 5,000 in Western New York, who saw their pension benefits cut by up to 29% going back to 2017.

Earlier this week, Empire State Development announced Perry's Ice Cream Company Inc. is expanding its production capabilities to meet the growth of the novelty market, adding 20,000-square-feet to its manufacturing facility in the Village of Akron. To better accommodate the growing demand for frozen Greek yogurt novelties, Perry's will also purchase new machinery and equipment. The company has committed to creating up to 15 new jobs as part of the expansion project; 370 jobs will be retained.

Gov. Kathy Hochul on Thursday announced the winners of the eighth annual 43North Finals, New York state's $5 million startup competition held in Buffalo, in which five companies were each awarded a $1 million investment. In addition to the financial investments, the five winners will relocate their companies to Buffalo and work out of the 43North incubator in the city's tallest skyscraper, Seneca One.
