Rocker Billy Idol will ignite the summer concert season at Artpark on June 4, kicking off "First Niagara presents Tuesday in the Park." One week later, Joan Jett and The Blackhearts are slated to take the Outdoor Amphitheater stage. Tickets go on sale March 15.

Artpark & Company Inc. announces auditions for its upcoming Mainstage production "Sound of Music," which will start rehearsals June 24 and run until July 19. Auditions will be held on Saturday, March 9, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Niagara University Annex (in the Valu Home Center plaza on Porter Road, Niagara Falls).

"The Fairy House Festival" returns to Artpark on June 9 and 10. From noon until 5 p.m. each day, the event will feature art activities; hundreds of fairy houses designed by schools, Scout troops and community youth groups; special dance performances; artist-created exhibits; storytelling; and magical surprises. The Artpark & Company annual meeting was held Wednesday, Oct. 26, at the Niagara Falls Country Club to confirm the re-election of officers and new directors to the board. The meeting reviewed the successful 2011 season, which broke attendance records and saw programming growth with the expansion of children's camps, the return of the "Edges" Outdoor Sculpture Competition, the rise in popularity of the Niagara Wine Trail Wine & Culinary Festival, and the introduction of the new "Fairy House Festival."
Christopher H. Brown of Brown & Company LLP was re-elected for a fifth season as chairman of the Artpark & Company board of directors.
