The Silo Restaurant is concluding a successful summer at the end of September.

“We have had a really good season so far,” manager Lexi Alfiere said. “We got through every rush with a smile. We had almost no problems. It was a really great season. So far, even better than last year. And last year was our best season.”

As warmer weather begins to fade away, patrons are advised to check hours of operation. Alfiere said the plan is to close the last Sunday in September, but “We encourage customers to call before they come, just in case something crazy happens with the weather. Obviously, we’re in Western New York, so you never know. But we’re shooting for the last Sunday in September.”

One reason The Silo closes a little earlier than other seasonal operations is out of deference to the staff. Many employees are in school and will be headed back to class.

“When Lew-Port starts back up – when all the high schools start back up – we’ll be closing at 9 on school days instead of 10. (Sunday through Thursday; Friday and Saturday hours remain until 10 p.m.).”

Between now and the end of next month, “Everyone should keep an eye on the local paper. We are doing a coupon almost every single week up into our last day. That would be The Sentinel. Buy one, get one; we’ve done BOGO ‘Haystacks’; BOGO hot dogs; BOGO ice cream. BOGO ‘Haystack’ was, by far, our biggest hit. So, we plan to do that again. Great deals!”

The Silo is located at 115 N. Water St., Lewiston.
