Following some spring construction, the world-famous Hibbard's Original Frozen Custard opened for the 2018 season on Sunday.
The Hibbard family opted to expand the serving window to provide employees with more workspace. As such, the front wall was removed and replaced. New siding, painting and lighting complete the new build, which includes a generous overhang to shield customers when it's raining.
Also, a new concrete waiting area was built as a means to more efficiently organize customer lines - and to better protect patrons who were previously crossing in front of traffic to approach the window.
Hibbard's has been serving its original custard in Lewiston for almost 80 years.
The custard stand is located at 105 Portage Road (corner of Center Street; across from Academy Park). For more information, visit http://www.hibbardscustard.com or call 716-754-4218.
