The Niagara Pioneer Renegades U16 boys soccer team won the Wilson Soccer Tournament U17 division over Father's Day weekend.
The Renegades opened the tournament with a 3-1 win over Kenmore Invaders.
Ryan Mercer opened the scoring on a header assisted by John Wright – who scored the second goal after being set up by Tyler Birmingham. Walker Woods closed out the scoring after being assisted by Joey Conti.
Luca DeBiaso and Nate Pearson played well defensively.
The second match was a 4-1 win over Alden. John Wright had 1 goal and 2 assists. Liam Suitor had 2 assists. Jace Conrad, Ryan Mercer and Tyler Birmingham each had 1 goal.
Evan Kutis and Cole Hockenberry played well defensively.
The championship match was a 4-1 win over Lockport. Everett Dix scored once. John Wright had 2 goals and 1 assist. Tyler Birmingham had 1 goal and 1 assist. Wyatt Leardini had 2 assists. Cody Larson earned the win in goal for all 3 matches.
