Bringing cookie booths – and ‘Girl Scout Difference’ – to communities

Girl Scouts of Western New York Press Release & Photos

Girl Scouts of Western New York hosted its highly anticipated “Mega Cookie Drop” event this past weekend. Thousands of Girl Scouts, volunteers and community supporters came together to receive and distribute cases of the iconic cookies, marking the start of an empowering season of entrepreneurship, leadership and community impact.

“The Girl Scout Cookie program is the largest youth-led entrepreneurial program in the world, and a perfect example of what makes Girl Scouts different,” said Cara Biddlecom, CEO of Girl Scouts of Western New York. “It is not just about cookies; it’s about building financial literacy and business skills. Every box of cookies sold opens the door to new adventures, community service projects, and life-changing experiences for our Girl Scouts. Every dollar earned stays local, supporting troop activities, summer camps, international travel, and service initiatives that directly benefit Girl Scouts and their communities.”

As part of the “Girl Scout Difference” campaign, GSWNY is highlighting the impact of the cookie program beyond just sales. When customers purchase Girl Scout Cookies, they are investing in the next generation of young leaders, entrepreneurs and change-makers.

With cookie booth sales, online orders and direct sales in full swing, Girl Scouts across the region are ready to make a difference in their community – one cookie box at a time.
