Press Release

“Superchef Grudge Match” is back with a brand-new season of all-star competitions to settle some of the biggest personal and professional feuds in the culinary world. In each episode, host Darnell Ferguson stages two different battles between chefs who have beefs with each other to finally bury the hatchet and win $10,000 cash, a prized knife from the losing chef and lifelong bragging rights over their food foe. From best friends turned professional rivals to a culinary couple’s husband vs. wife battle, conflicts are settled once and for all in each one-hour episode.

“Superchef Grudge Match” premieres Tuesday, Dec. 26 (9 p.m. ET/PT), on Food Network.

“The grudges are bigger and badder this season – when these chefs collide, the culinary action is intense and the trash-talk is biting,” said Betsy Ayala, head of content, food, Warner Bros. Discovery. “Darnell’s energy and bold personality make him the ideal host to settle these scores.”

In the season premiere, Darnell welcomes four culinary masters to the center ring to settle long-standing turf wars and personal hometown rivalries. In the first match, acclaimed chef Matt Klum calls out his former boss and restaurateur, chef Dana Downs, to prove she made a huge mistake letting him go 10 years ago. In the second match, the renowned chef Danny Wilson challenges “Food Network Star” runner-up Jay Ducote in a head-to-head battle to prove, once and for all, who is the real deal when it comes to Southern cuisine. In the end, judges Catherine McCord and Justin Sutherland choose who will leave the arena with a $10,000 cash prize, a special knife from the losing chef and, most importantly, lifelong bragging rights.

Upcoming battles include a match between Southern California chefs Brian Malarkey and Antonia Lofaso, who takes the challenge on with two broken fingers and a little help from AEW stars Willow Nightingale and Jade Cargill; and chef Tia Raiford going against her husband, cookbook author Matthew Raiford, to see who gets top billing at home.
