Holy Ghost Lutheran Church and School hosted the Bergholz 5K road race and 1-mile “fun run” on Saturday, to promote health and wellness within the community, and to benefit on-site facilities and operations.
The first-place overall male runner was Jonathan Bussa, with a time of 17:56; and the first-place overall female was Colleen Carroll, with a time of 21:54. The 5K had 74 total runners. Organizers said, “The weather was a perfect 55 degrees with partly cloudy skies at the 10 a.m. start time. Traffic control was provided by the Town of Wheatfield constables and the Bergholz Fire Department. We had an Oktoberfest-themed post-race party with awards, bratwurst, sauerkraut, pretzels and German music.” (Submitted photo)
