Shoppers invited to help brighten the hallways with their very own artwork

As the community gears up for back to school, The Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls USA is inviting shopping guests of all ages to participate in the creation of a new community mural titled, “Kindness is Fashionable,” which will be painted on the windows of entrance 3.

Starting Saturday, from noon to 3 p.m., the mural will be open to the public – and guests can leave their mark. No formal art experience will be necessary, as local artist Ali Price will be on hand helping to guide and encourage guests to create a one-of-kind mural together.

“We saw this as a unique opportunity to engage the local community, both young and old, to participate in the creation of something really special and beautiful here at the Fashion Outlets,” said Susie Swiatkowski, marketing manager for Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls. “The mural stands for unity and kindness, and we are thrilled to have a seasoned mural artist like Ali Price leading the project. Her enthusiasm is quite inspiring to young artists, and her artwork speaks so well to community pride. We are truly looking forward to seeing how this mural unfolds.”

The mural will be developed under the theme of spreading unity, love and kindness to the Niagara community. All art supplies will be provided.

While the kick-off event will be held this Saturday, Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls USA anticipates Price will continue to add finishing touches during the weeks following. The final mural is expected to be completed by the outlet’s anticipated back-to-school event in late August.

“Community murals are a wonderful way to bring people together. It’s a project that combines creativity, education and inspiration. I am excited to work with the kids to create this cooperative mural,” Price said. “If you’re in the area shopping this weekend, stop by and add your personal touch to the mural. There’s no better way to show the strength of the Western New York community than by coming together and collaborating on a piece of art everyone can enjoy.”
