Ransomville Speedway will be hosting a driving school for any new drivers and all drivers competing in the novice division of the SANY New York/Burris Racing go-kart program beginning at 10 a.m. at the “Little R” on Sunday, May 1. The event will take place rain or shine.

Speedway officials will be on hand as well as go-kart race director Ryan Susice and starter Greg Martin. Both Susice and Martin compete in the 358 Modified division on Friday nights – and the two also are graduates of the Ransomville karting program. Participants in the driving school will have valuable track time as well as classroom instruction to go over all aspects of race procedures, including flags and signals.

All participants are encouraged to bring their one-way radios to test and make sure they are good to go for the season.

For the 2022 season, all karts will be required to have number plates on the rear of the karts. Kart officials recommend mounting the plates to the seats or to the brake caliper mount. Drivers who are looking for earphones are encouraged to contact novice division sponsor Dave Just about ordering Fuze Custom Earphones, as Just will be an authorized Fuze Custom Earphones dealer. Martin uses these personally on Friday nights and is recommending them for kart drivers. For more information about Fuze Custom Earphones, visit earfuze.com.

The tentative 2022 SANY New York/Burris Racing go-kart schedule is available by going to ransomvillespeedway.com and clicking on the karts tab. The season will begin with a practice session on Thursday, May 5. Highlights include the 2022 season opener on Thursday, May 12. There will be a Friday night exhibition on July 15. The schedule also has $100-to-win nights for the junior 1, 2 3, senior lite, and senior heavy plus the popular ladies race. The Paul Moden Memorial will take place on Aug. 4, and there will be a Monday night special on June 27.

Ransomville Speedway – “The Big R” is a 3/8th-mile DIRTcar-sanctioned facility that is the “Home of the Summer Nationals.” For more information, visit www.ransomvillespeedway.com or call 716-791-3602 or 716-791-3611.
