An opening reception for “The Growlery: Selected works by Michael J. Beam” will take place from 6-9 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, at Wine on Third Gallery, 501 Third St., Niagara Falls. The event will include an artist introduction and champagne toast at 7:30 p.m., as well as ambient/trans/techno spins by DJH Entertainment.
The exhibit will remain on display through Sept. 29.
An award-winning artist, author, curator, educator and public speaker, Beam holds a Masters of Fine Arts degree from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale (1998) and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from California University of Pennsylvania (1992). He has been presented with public and private acquisition awards, commendations and critical reviews from a variety of news outlets. Beam exhibited his work in group and solo exhibitions across the Midwest and East Coast. During his tenure in Western New York, he has participated in many exhibitions and contributed numerous works to important nonprofit regional arts fundraisers. Most recently, Beam was awarded the 2018 Inaugural “Curatorial Achievement Trailblazer of the Arts” Award by Buffalo’s Art Services Initiative.
