Niagara Falls Community Development is organizing a "Cash Mob" at The Niagara Falls City Market (779 E. Market St.) from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29.
Director Seth Piccirillo said, "The Niagara Falls City Market is a staple of our community, and offers fresh produce options from regional farms."
A cash mob is a group of people who assemble at a local business to make purchases. The purpose of these mobs is to support both the local businesses and the overall community while providing a social opportunity. They are a form of flash mob, and are inspired by them.
"We are also asking all attendees to check in to social media platforms during the event, sharing photos, etc. Online conversation makes a significant difference in how a small business gains more attention and customers, visitors and locals alike," Piccirillo said. "While visiting the City Market, consider getting breakfast of lunch at one of the many local eateries in, and surrounding, the market.
