In an article last week, The Silo Restaurant proprietor Alan Hastings said customers come first. He's taking those words and putting them into action, offering River Region customers two special end-of-the-season offers.
Through Sept. 23, residents of Lewiston, Porter, Youngstown, Ransomville and Sanborn will receive 10 percent off their orders. Patrons can show a form of identification that includes an address to receive the discount.
The Silo also is selling a novelty tumbler cup. After a one-time purchase fee of $4.99, cupholders can fill their glass with any soda, any time, for free, throughout the rest of the season.
"It's the end of summer. We're competing with the county fairs. People are thinking back to school, and we don't want them to forget about The Silo," Hastings said. "We just want to end the season on a really good note, and say 'Thank you' to our most important customers, which is the locals."
"We really wanted to do this," manager Lexi Alfiere said.
She added, "We're thanking our community. Without our community, we would have nothing. Our locals not only contribute to our business, but they guide tourists here, and we appreciate that. We want to reward them, and thank them for their support for the last 20 years."
"And their friends and family have always worked here. They are our employees," Hastings noted.
"We love employing our locals, and the students of this area," Alfiere said.
In addition to the 10 percent discount and the tumbler cup, The Silo is offering buy one-get one free coupons each week.
The Silo is located at 115 N. Water St., Lewiston.
