Ten-episode daytime series premieres Saturday, Aug. 8
Golden Globe Award-winning actress and best-selling cookbook author Valerie Bertinelli shares her passion for preparing delicious meals for her family and friends on "Valerie's Home Cooking," premiering on Saturday, Aug. 8 (noon ET/PT), on Food Network. Join her in the kitchen as she prepares homemade, modern, easy recipes and offers how-to tips and techniques for delicious date nights, pizza parties, family barbecues and so much more. Inspired by family recipes passed down through the generations, Bertinelli adds her own flavor and flair to create mouthwatering meals that everyone can enjoy.
"Throughout the years, fans have come to love Valerie for her acting talents, and now on 'Valerie's Home Cooking,' they will get to experience her passion and talent for cooking as she creates crowd-pleasing meals," said Bob Tuschman, general manager and senior vice president of programming at Food Network. "We first welcomed Valerie to the Food Network family as co-host of 'Kids Baking Championship,' and now we are thrilled to join her in the kitchen as she prepares delicious dishes for friends and family."
"I've always felt that preparing a meal is an experience that should be enjoyed with those that you love, and now I'm excited to share that with Food Network viewers, using my favorite recipes I've made throughout the years for my friends and family," Bertinelli said.
Whether it is a quick and easy dinner of baked salmon with honey mustard sauce with close friends, or a post-workout brunch featuring blueberry smoothies and cherry coconut "scuffins," or grilling barbecue chicken kabobs with tequila lime cilantro with the family, each episode is filled with delicious food, great company and lots of laughs.
On the premiere episode, Bertinelli invites her "Hot in Cleveland" co-stars Jane Leeves, Wendi Malick and Betty White over for lunch. While they have formed a great friendship working together over the years, they do not all like the same food. Bertinelli creates a special meal that balances all of their favorites, including quiche Valerie, Italian tuna salad and grilled romaine with Caesar-ish dressing. The sweetest part of this meal is not only the panna cotta with frutti di bocca dessert, but the stories and memories they share as they reminisce about their times on set together.
