"The Chew Search for the Weight Watchers Chef" continues
It's "Chocolate Week" at "The Chew," when the food-centric lifestyle show kicks-off a weeklong celebration focusing on the dark and delicious sweet treat. From cocktails and decadently delicious desserts and dishes to inexpensive gift ideas, "The Chew" has everything viewers need to paint the town red on Valentine's Day.
From now until the champion is crowned Feb. 19, culinary professionals from around the country will appear weekly on "The Chew" to showcase their skills in developing and preparing healthy, delicious dishes for a chance to win $75,000 and a one-year consulting contract with Weight Watchers as the Weight Watchers chef. This week, the two finalists, Lisa Fontanesi (Los Angeles) and Ryan Hutmacher (Chicago), face off in a Valentine's Day dessert competition.
The schedule for Feb. 10-14 (subject to change; weekdays, 1 p.m., on ABC):
Monday, Feb. 10 - "Mac 'N' Cheese Monday" - "Chocolate Week" kicks-off. Toni Braxton teams with Clinton Kelly and Mario Batali to make a gooey, cheesy classic. Daphne Oz heads to Murray's Cheese Shop in NYC to learn the ABC's of mac and cheese.
Tuesday, Feb. 11 - "Feel Good Food" - Author and TV personality Bobby Deen takes "The Chew's" cameras on a tour of his Savannah, Ga., home, Mario makes a mouth-watering meal and Michael Symon creates a homemade take on a classic treat, Kit Kat.
Wednesday, Feb. 12 - "Sweets For Your Sweetie" - Carla Hall makes chocolate tuiles. "Judge Foodie" (Clinton) rules on crimes of the heart, and "The Chew Search for the Weight Watchers Chef" continues with part one of the finals, a battle of desserts.
Thursday, Feb. 13 - "The Chew's Cooking Class: Valentine's Day" - Learn how to prepare a romantic dinner to impress as Mario teaches four couples his secret to a heart-warming dish. Legendary chocolatier Jacques Torres creates a dazzling dessert with the help of Carla and Daphne, and Michael teaches four husbands how to make the perfect meal for their significant others.
Friday, Feb. 14 - "Be My Valentine" - Tips for a memorable Valentine's Day. Michael concocts a delicious entrée in less than five minutes. Carla reveals how to make perfect, edible Valentine's Day presents. Mario cooks a decadent delight with amore and Clinton outlines what "not to do" on the big day.
