With the colder, winter temperatures settling into the Western New York atmosphere, Ransomville Speedway continues to prepare for the 2014 season. The Niagara County-based half-mile speed plant will be releasing a monster 2014 schedule within the next few weeks and continues to sign valuable marketing partners that will only enhance Ransomville Speedway's popular Friday racing program.

Tim Hortons, Johnston's Restaurant, Pepsi and Gippster's Collision are officially back in the fold for the upcoming season.

Track sponsorship is one of the keys to the success of a racing facility. It takes a lot of work in getting sponsors to continually come back year after year. We appreciate every one of our marketing partners who help make Ransomville Speedway what it is today.

•Bob Burns, owner of several Tim Hortons in Niagara Falls and Sanborn, has been a huge supporter of Ransomville Speedway and also sponsors 358 Modified driver Scott Kerwin.

Tim Hortons includes Niagara Falls locations at the Fashion Outlets of Niagara; Pine Avenue and Hyde Park Boulevard; Military Road (near K-Mart); 8500 Niagara Falls Boulevard and at Niagara Road, near Ward Road. Tim Hortons also has a new location in the CVS Plaza in Sanborn.

•The official soft drink of Ransomville Speedway, Pepsi, has been a sponsor at Ransomville Speedway for better than 20 years. Pepsi representative Joe Kasbaum has been a great marketing partner for Ransomville Speedway, with brand recognition via multiple levels of signage at the speedway. Additionally, they will entertain employees during a company night outing slated for mid-July.

•Johnston's Restaurant, located at 2575 Academy St. in downtown Ransomville, is the race fan's favorite before and after the races. Johnston's will have two sponsored nights at the track this year.

•A former racer himself, Gippster's Collision owner Gerry Gipp knows the marketing value of a sponsorship in motorsports. Gippster's Collision will once again be the title sponsor for the Four Banger class.

Advertising at the Big R is a great way to reach a very brand-loyal group of consumers - race fans - and it remains cost effective.

Pit notes: Big R's fifth annual Battle at the Border - DIRTcar 358 Series - is Wednesday, July 2, and the 30th annual Summer Nationals - the DIRTcar Big Block Mod Series - runs on Tuesday, Aug. 5.
