About 125 runners and walkers came to Youngstown Saturday, May 11, for the 19th annual Nancy Price 5K Race and Walk. A chilly breeze and the threat of rain didn't keep participants away, as they raced, walked and rolled from the firehall through the village to Fort Niagara and back to the firehall.
The overall men's winner was Matthew Q. Glynn, with a time of 16:32, and the overall women's winner was Amy Fakterowitz, with a time of 19:38. Youngstown Mayor Raleigh Reynolds walked the course and was at the finish line to shake the hand of Scott G. Sullivan who completed the course in a wheelchair, with a time of 57:28, a new best time for him in a 5K.
After the race, everyone retired to the firehall for food, refreshments and some hard-earned awards. (photo by Wayne Peters)
