Community Missions partnering with Rapids Theatre for third annual fall fundraiser

Community Missions of Niagara Frontier Inc. will host its third annual fall fundraiser at The Rapids Theatre on Tuesday, Nov. 20. The event begins at 5 p.m. at 1711 Main St.

The annual benefit is held to increase awareness and funding during the holidays for Niagara-area families and individuals who are less fortunate.

From 5 to 8 p.m., local "celebrities" will rotate over three hour shifts to help raise awareness and funds for crisis services. True Gravity will perform from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Celebrity bartenders include: Russ Petrozzi, Tony Berak, Ron Zito, Lisa Malinowski, Randy Bowen, Jim Mezhir, Mike Murphy, Eric Boerdner, Natalie Mosley, Henry Wojtaszek, Jerry Williams, Chief Master Sgt. Dave Wohleben, Brian Costello, Ron Anderluh, Fran Giles, Michael Cerrone, Lorelei Teamore, Joe Sbarbati, Tim Hyland, Rick Crogan, Christina Cerrone, Christopher Stoianoff and Craig Avery.

The Alps Catering will cater alongside the "celebrities" at the Rapids Theatre to assist in making this event fun, and a complete success for families and individuals who are hungry and homeless.

Community Missions is a human service, non-profit organization that serves marginalized populations residing within Niagara County. It was founded in 1925 and has provided the basic necessities such as food, clothing and shelter since its inception. In 2011, 71,159 meals were served and more than 8,500 nights of care to families and individuals in need were provided. Community Missions has experienced a need increase of nearly 20 percent since 2010 in the use of crisis and community services.
