Sandy Hays Mies, event coordinator for the Lewiston Region Tour of Kitchens, has announced the winners of the 2012 People's Choice Awards.
Ticketholders had the opportunity to vote on their favorite culinary sample as well as their favorite tablescapes/décor.
The winner of the Best Culinary Sample was Chef Tom McCormick of the just opened Town Hall American Bistro located at 453 Center St., in Lewiston. McCormick won for his shrimp and grits with chipotle barbecue glaze and Natural Link andouille sausage. The dish will be featured on the eatery's regular menu. The winner for the best tablescapes and décor was the home of Jill and Bruce Spira of Youngstown and their decorator, Cyndi Obrochta of Ob's Paper Barn, located at 295 Campbell Blvd., in Amherst.
According to Hays Mies, "The Tour of Kitchens was an amazing success. One home was more beautiful than the others. All of the culinary samples were works of art and the tablescapes and décor wowed the ticketholders!"
The dates for the 2013 Tour of Kitchens are June 8 and 9.
