For the past 24 years, insurance agent Joel Holka has presented a football award to local high school athletes. Winners of the award are voted on by fellow teammates and coaches. Award winners are hard workers, have positive attitudes, never give up in tough situations, and provide inspirational leadership to their teammates by leading by example.
This year's winners include Kevin McMurray of Lewiston-Porter (left) and Mahmoud Zeidan of Niagara-Wheatfield.
Each winner gets an individual plaque, and his photo is added to a school plaque that remains in the high school trophy case.
