The Niagara Falls Sports Hall of Fame board of directors has announced its 2011 inductees. They are Dan Bazzani, Armand Cacciatore, Louie Cavanaugh, Frank Rodriguez (deceased), Bill Ross, Mike Violante, Bill Vrooman and Bob Williams (deceased).
The Niagara Falls Sports Hall of Fame, previously known as The Old Timers Sports Hall of Fame, has been in existence since 1968. In the past 45 years, it has honored 258 members of the Niagara Falls community who have contributed in some way to the field of athletics.
This group will be honored at the annual induction dinner at The Como in Niagara Falls on Saturday, Oct. 22. Cocktails will be at 6 p.m., followed by dinner and program at 7 p.m.
