Ronald McDonald House Charities of Western New York (RMHC of WNY) is thrilled to announce a special collaboration with McDonald's, featuring its legendary Shamrock Shakes, to support our charitable initiatives.

From Feb. 27 through March 11, participating McDonald's in Western New York and Northwestern Pennsylvania will generously donate 25 cents to RMHC of WNY for every Shamrock Shake sold. In 2023, McDonald’s WNY & NWPA owner/operators donated $18,843.50 from the Shamrock Shake promotion to RMHC of WNY.

The funds raised during this year's promotion will directly support RMHC of WNY's ongoing efforts to provide lodging, meals and resources to families with sick or injured children receiving medical treatment in Buffalo.

The McDonald's/RMHC of WNY partnership, dating back to the inception of the Buffalo Ronald McDonald House, reaffirms McDonald's commitment to positively impacting local families facing health challenges. Notably, a Shamrock Shake promotion played a vital role in providing startup funding for the Buffalo Ronald McDonald House. Since its establishment in December 1983, the house has served more than 24,411 families from Western New York and beyond.

"We are grateful for McDonald's dedication to the well-being of our families in our community,” RMHC of WNY Interim Executive Director Sally Vincent said. “The Shamrock Shake promotion is a wonderful opportunity for individuals to enjoy a delicious minty treat while making a difference in the lives of families staying at the Ronald McDonald House and those benefiting from our hospital programs at John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital and Sisters of Charity Hospital. Every 25-cent donation from each shake adds up and helps us continue our mission of supporting families during difficult times.”

In addition to enjoying a Shamrock Shake during this special promotion, RMHC of WNY encourages McDonald's customers to take an extra step in philanthropy by choosing to “Round Up for RMHC” while placing their order. By rounding up their bill to the nearest dollar, patrons can contribute even more to the cause, amplifying the positive impact on needy families.
