Donation comes as part of annual ‘Subaru Loves to Help’ initiative in collaboration with Operation Warm

On Wednesday, the Buffalo City Mission received a charitable donation of more than 100 children’s winter coats from Northtown Subaru. The donation comes as part of the annual “Subaru Loves to Help” initiative in partnership with Operation Warm.

"We are profoundly grateful for the generosity of Northtown Subaru and Operation Warm,” said Dorian Volsch, Buffalo City Mission director of development and marketing. “This donation goes beyond physical items. It provides the children in our community a clear message of hope and support."

The coats were collected and given out as part of an event held at the Buffalo City Mission’s Alfiero Center of Hope and Promise. Here, children were each given a new coat to not only protect them from Western New York’s frigid winter weather, but also provide a sense of comfort and emotional well-being.

Volsch continued, “A winter coat is something that so many of us zip up and take for granted every day. But for a child in need, it can mean the whole world of difference.

“Thanks to the generosity of Northtown Subaru’s team, more children in our community can embrace a sense of warmth and belonging.”

A press release stated, “In the U.S., millions are grappling with homelessness and other urgent needs. The ‘Subaru Loves to Help’ initiative, together with over 625 Subaru retailers nationwide, is committed to providing critical support through the donation of new clothing items. This partnership aligns with Subaru's broader community support efforts, aiming to assist over 750,000 individuals by the end of this campaign.”
