As the Buffalo Bills play in Cincinnati for the first time since Damar Hamlin’s collapse, fans will be learning the lifesaving skills of Hands-Only CPR during the CycleNation event sponsored by the American Stroke Association, a division of the American Heart Association.

The event will take place Sunday, Nov. 5, at the ADPRO Sports Training Center, 1 Bills Drive, Orchard Park. Doors open at 3 p.m. Hands-Only CPR trainings are slated for 3-6:30 p.m., with a CPR and first aid in youth sports training kit presentation at 3:30 p.m., a CycleNation opening ceremony at 4 p.m., a CycleNation ride from 4:15-6:30 p.m., and the closing ceremony and celebration from 6:30-7 p.m.

CycleNation is an indoor stationary bike relay event – a “party on a bike” – to help raise awareness and funds in the fight against stroke. Stroke is the No. 1 disabler and No. 2 killer globally, responsible for every 1 in 4 deaths worldwide. Recent studies suggest that physical activity, like cycling, can help maintain strong brain function.

What’s New at CycleNation this Year

Thanks to support from the Buffalo Bills, the American Heart Association will be offering Hands-Only CPR trainings. “Nation of Lifesavers” sponsors the Buffalo Bills and Wegmans will be distributing CPR and first aid in youth sports training kits to 20 local organizations

Attendees can learn about the Apple Heart & Movement Study. The study helps us understand the links between heart health and physical activity, and is a collaboration with American Heart Association and Brigham and Women’s Hospital sponsored by Apple.
