Memorial adds to surgical team

Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center announced the appointment of local surgeons Dr. Robert Hodge, M.D, and Dr. Jeffrey Schratz, M.D., to its surgical team, effective July 1.

"In the Greater Niagara Region, Dr. Hodge and Dr. Schratz have earned exceptional reputations for their unwavering humility, profound compassion, and extensive experience," said Joseph A. Ruffolo, hospital president and CEO. "We are privileged to welcome both doctors to our esteemed team warmly. Their surgical expertise will undoubtedly bring immense benefits to not only the residents of Niagara County, but also to all those who seek their exceptional care.”

A press release stated, “Throughout his 34-year career, Dr. Hodge has made significant contributions to prestigious medical institutions such as Mount St. Mary's Hospital and Health Center and Eastern Niagara Hospital – Lockport. He earned his medical degree from the University of Louisville and completed his surgical residency at the University at Buffalo.

“With a focus on general surgery, Dr. Schratz has been an invaluable member of the medical team at Eastern Niagara Hospital since 1991. He also maintains a strong affiliation with Kenmore Mercy Hospital. Dr. Schratz earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and gained valuable experience at the Immunology Lab at Harvard Medical School, further enriching his expertise.”
