Organized by Town of Porter Supervisor John "Duffy" Johnston, the Southern Tier Camp Challenge held at the Allegheny Hills Golf Club in Rushford honored the memory of Jeffery C. Hessney, who died on May 11 at age 64 in Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.

'Disney Princess - The Concert' returns to U.S. in 2024

Disney Concerts announced "Disney Princess - The Concert," a celebration of the music of Disney's iconic princesses performed by Broadway stars, will return to the U.S. for a 39-city run kicking off March 5, 2024, in Memphis. The tour will make its way to Shea's Buffalo Theatre on April 20. Tickets go on sale at 1 0 a.m. Friday at sheas.org.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame announced a new streaming and broadcast home on Disney+ and ABC. The 2023 induction ceremony will be broadcast live coast to coast on Disney+ from Brooklyn on Friday, Nov. 3 (8 p.m. EDT), and will be available to stream following the ceremony. Under a federal court order beginning Oct. 1, and continuing through June 30, 2025, approximately 200,000 tobacco retail stores throughout the nation must post signs with "corrective statements" near point-of-sale commercial tobacco products.

Gov. Kathy Hochul announced the start of construction for 950 Broadway LLC in east Buffalo. The $13.5 million project, by Cedarland Development LLC, will renovate and convert a 50,000-square-foot, vacant and underutilized building in east Buffalo into a mixed-use development, featuring 28 affordable housing units, a free Head Start child education program, and a proposed indoor urban farm.
