Artpark marked its 50th anniversary in 2024 with spectacular concerts, impactful community programs, stunning visual art exhibits and unique special events that celebrated Artpark's rich history. To successfully conclude the anniversary year, Artpark's board of directors has issued a community challenge: If Artpark raises $50,000 in the final 50 days of its 50th year, the board of directors will match contributions dollar for dollar.

The waterfront park at Lewiston Landing - in between the Griffon Gastropub and The Silo Restaurant - is in line for a $43,000 makeover, courtesy of the Lewiston Beautification Committee and Garden Club. By next spring, the North Water Street green space will have new fencing, picnic tables and swings.

A wide variety of products were offered for sale in the dining area at the Golden Age Center. If people were interested in buying something that they could take home and eat, they had the option of purchasing baked goods, jams and jellies or locally produced honey. A tractor-trailer, loaded with 16 pallets of relief donations from Grand Island, began its trip from the Southern Tier town of Fillmore to Boone, North Carolina, on Oct. 7. It began its journey at Grand Island Town Hall two days earlier. The full trailer happened as the result of efforts by three men who live on the same street near Huth Road Elementary School.
