Wegmans announced it will eliminate plastic bags companywide by the end of 2022. With this decision, the company's goal is to shift all customers to reusable bags, what it called "the best option to solve the environmental challenge of single-use grocery bags."

This event gives students an opportunity to display and explain a project connected to a classroom experience under the guidance of a faculty mentor. On Wednesday morning, the Niagara County Sheriff's Office responded to a car vs. motorcycle accident in front of 2546 Niagara Falls Blvd., in the Town of Wheatfield. Upon arrival of deputies, it was observed the motorcycle was laying in the street behind a white SUV. The operator of the motorcycle was laying nearby. Both vehicles were in the northbound left lane.

Instacart, a leading retail enablement company in North America, and Wegmans Food Markets announced they will accept Electronic Benefits Transfer and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (EBT SNAP) payments across 106 stores in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Massachusetts, Virginia and North Carolina. EBT SNAP will be available for purchases made at Wegmans via the Instacart website and mobile app.

On March 22 at 2:52 p.m., the Niagara County Sheriff's Office Dispatch Center received notification of a fire alarm activation at the apartment building located at 6824 Plaza Drive in the Town of Wheatfield. The Niagara County Center for Economic Development announced the launch of the new Niagara County Façade Program (NCFP). The NCFP will provide matching grants up to $50,000 for eligible businesses in order to rejuvenate their properties to help bring vibrancy to the central business districts in communities across the county. The county has allocated $3 million for the program through the federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).
