ASI Awards $122,500 to 46 WNY arts projects

Arts Services Inc. will award $122,500 in New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) decentralization grants to artists and arts organizations for the production of 46 arts projects in Erie and Niagara counties in 2021.

Ransomville Speedway will host a pre-tech inspection day from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Sunday, April 25, at the speedway. This pre-tech inspection day will be for competitors in the Krown Undercoating Modifieds, Investors Service Sportsman, Ki-Po Motors Street Stocks, Sunflowers of Sanborn Mini Stocks, and Kevin's Carpet Cleaning Novice Sportsman.

Niagara County clerk: Driver's license expiration extended again

Niagara County Clerk Joseph Jastrzemski on Wednesday said Gov. Andrew Cuomo has issued executive order 202.97, which extends the expiration dates on licenses and permits that expired after March 1, 2020, to April 16, 2021. At this time, all transactions must be done by appointment only, although Jastrzemski said his office is working to change that next month.

Village of Lewiston Treasurer Stephanie Myers presented the Board of Trustees with a preliminary $4.07 million budget for fiscal year 2021-22, which begins June 1. The proposed property tax rate is $7.76 per $1,000 of assessed valuation, which would be a dime increase over the current rate.
