The Niagara County Department of Health environmental division is part of a collaborative effort to prevent the spread of rabies in the Western New York region through dissemination of oral rabies vaccine. The ORV project is led by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service.

The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation Niagara River Greenway Fund Standing Committee will hold a meeting at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, to vote on funding for a project being proposed by State Parks. The meeting will be held at in the DeVeaux Woods State Park Castellani Building and is open to the public.

Gov. Kathy Hochul has recommended Justin E. Driscoll to serve as president and CEO of the New York Power Authority. Upon appointment by the NYPA board of trustees and subject to confirmation by the Senate, Driscoll will continue to lead the nation's largest state-owned electric utility.

In the Niagara Falls Power Vista Visitors Center, robots maneuvered around obstacles, moved up and down ramps, threw balls through miniature basketball hoops, and scooped up orange disks that they then pushed across a grid. The demonstrations were part of the culminating event at Niagara University's Robotics Camp, which took place June 27-30.
