Gov. Kathy Hochul announced new #VaxForKids pop-up vaccination sites to increase vaccination rates among children and adolescents. The new sites support the state's goal of ensuring New York children 5 years and older get vaccinated and keep up with all recommended coronavirus vaccine doses, including the booster.

On Friday, at the tail end of her speech at a press event regarding a downstate snowstorm, Gov. Kathy Hochul announced her mask mandate would remain in place through Feb. 10. The indoor face covering requirement was slated to end Feb. 1.

Bleachers to perform at Artpark on July 27

Providence Farm Collective awarded major grant to develop farmers market on Buffalo's west side

Providence Farm Collective (PFC) has received a $477,000 Farmers Market Promotion Program grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). With this funding, PFC will create a farmers' market on Grant Street, in the heart of Buffalo's west side, where many of their farmers live. The market will be open from the end of June to October, and it will serve the Black community and refugees from Somalia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Burundi, Ethiopia, Myanmar and Liberia.

Non-US individuals will need to be vaccinated to enter country at borders

Beginning Jan. 22, the Department of Homeland Security will require non-U.S. individuals seeking to enter the U.S. via land ports of entry and ferry terminals at the U.S.-Mexico and U.S.-Canada borders to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, and provide related proof of vaccination. These new restrictions will apply to non-U.S. individuals who are traveling for both essential and nonessential reasons. They will not apply to U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or U.S. nationals.
