Gov. Kathy Hochul and Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz on Monday announced an agreement between New York state, Erie County and the NFL's Buffalo Bills franchise for a $1.4 billion new stadium in Orchard Park. Hochul's negotiations secured a 30-year commitment for the Bills to remain in Buffalo, and a combined $550 million from the NFL and Bills - approved by the NFL owners.

On Tuesday, Administrator Isabella Casillas Guzman, head of the U.S. Small Business Administration, directed the SBA to provide additional deferment of principal and interest payments for existing COVID Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) program borrowers. As New Yorkers prepare to set their clocks forward one hour on Sunday, March 13 (Daylight Saving Time), the Firefighters Association of the State of New York (FASNY) is urging everyone to check their smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors. Homeowners with alarms that have sealed, non-removable batteries should test the alarms to see if they are functional and check their expiration dates. Alarms equipped with removable batteries should have their batteries replaced.

Congressman Brian Higgins announced the passage of H.R. 2142 on Monday. Sponsored by Higgins, the bill designates the Central Park Post Office, at 170 Manhattan Ave., Buffalo, as the "Indiana Hunt-Martin Post Office Building." The facility is named in honor of Women's Army Corps (WAC) veteran Hunt-Martin, a member of the first African American WAC unit - and the only to serve in World War II.
