On Thursday, the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission board officially announced the selection of Kenneth N. Bieger to succeed Lew Holloway as the organization's next general manager, effective May 1. Bieger currently serves as chief financial officer for the NFBC and brings more than 35 years of professional management experience to the general manager position.

Artpark & Company has announced four more concerts coming to the Outdoor Amphitheater stage as part of its "KeyBank presents Tuesdays in the Park" series: Canadian Hall of Fame: Randy Bachman and 54•40; Brian Setzer's 'Rockabilly Riot!' with special guest Big Bad Voodoo Daddy; George Thorogood & The Destroyers and 38 Special; and Lynyrd Skynyrd. All four shows will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, April 7.

Ashli Dreher, a special education teacher in the Lewiston-Porter Central School District, has been inducted into the National Teachers Hall of Fame. A teacher for 21 years, Dreher was honored Friday at a ceremony in the high school atrium.

A demolition crew is wasting no time tearing down the former Fairchild Manor Nursing Home site on Onondaga Street in Lewiston. An entire wing was removed on Monday, and enormous piles of metal, concrete, wood and brick were sorted and removed on Tuesday.
