Old Fort Niagara will share American Revolution history with the public on Aug. 5-6, when it presents "Soldiers of the Revolution" from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. This re-enactment complements the daily summer programming currently happening at the fort, which features the British occupation of the fort from 1775-83.

The "Spartan: Ultimate Team Challenge" season concluded with a two-hour finale on Sunday, in which six teams faced off in semifinal heats in hopes of competing as one of the top three teams to race against each other on the most demanding Spartan course ever devised.

The Grand Island Lions Club on July 19 held its 59th annual Special Kids Picnic at the Buffalo Launch Club, an event that brought in over 1,100 kids with special needs and their chaperones. The kids got the opportunity to enjoy entertainment that included boat rides, pony rides, Shriner minikar rides, face painting and baton twirlers.

Mayor Paul A. Dyster on Thursday announced the selection of TM Montante Development as preferred developer for prime downtown development parcels located along 7th and Niagara streets in the City of Niagara Falls. The multiphase, approximately $5 million project will transform the structures located 610, 614 and 624 Niagara St. and the adjacent vacant parcels of 414-428 7th St., into a mixed-use facility in the heart of the downtown corridor.

As in past years, the community was invited to participate in a monthlong basket auction in May. Thanks to the support of the public, and the initiative of the real estate agents, $1,000 was raised.

The Kingdom Bound Festival, one of the nation's largest and longest-running Christian music festivals, is set to return to Darien Lake Theme and Water Park this summer. The 31st annual festival takes place July 26-29 with more than 40,000 attendees from across the U.S. and Canada expected to attend.

"Live with Kelly and Ryan" visited Niagara Falls, Ontario, over the weekend, and filmed two shows Monday from the Oakes Garden Theatre. Panoramic views of the American and Horseshoe Falls provided the backdrop for both editions of "Live," and the hosts took time to explore some of the popular tourist attractions.
