Lewiston GardenFest organizers are now accepting applications for both vendors and residents interested in sharing their own gardens as part of the annual event, set for Saturday and Sunday, June 20-21, along Center Street in Lewiston.

The Lewiston Public Library has been a place of incredible activity this past year. Thanks to the support of the Town of Lewiston, Niagara County and the dedication of our "Friends of the Library" group, we were able to offer a variety of materials and programs. The library is also a place patrons visit to read the newspaper, work on their laptop using the Wi-fi, or reserve a session on library computers.

Registration is now open for Old Fort Niagara's 300th anniversary history symposium: "Politics, Trade and Diplomacy on the New York Frontier." The event will be held Saturday, April 25, at the Fort Niagara Officers Club adjacent to the Old Fort. Hours for the program are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The cherry on top of weeks of snow accumulations and freezing-cold temperatures is ice dams forming in and above gutters across Western New York. Throughout this week, Lewiston laborers have been out along Center Street clearing massive snow piles caused by January's snowstorms. In working to clear the roads and sidewalks, snow had accumulated to heights almost equaling the neighboring buildings.
