Barba of Rose Chiropractic, P.C., in Lewiston, will be sponsoring the 35th annual "Doctors with a Heart Day" for their patients. Nonperishable food items will be collected to benefit the Niagara Community Action Program (NiaCAP) food pantry, in exchange for chiropractic services.

Owner Michael Hibbard is partnering with Jamah Destino to transform the Gallo Pronto unit into Destino's Pizzeria. In November 2024, Jeff Williams, a member of Artpark & Company's board of directors for over seven years, challenged his fellow board members to join together and match contributions from the community to celebrate Artpark & Company's 50th anniversary. If Artpark could raise $50,000 in donations over the final 50 days of the calendar year, the board would match those contributions dollar for dollar.

On Dec. 10, the Rotary Club of Lewiston/Niagara-on-the-Lake held its annual Christmas party at the Lewiston Stone House. It distributed the profits from a successful theatrical production of "The Odd Couple" to help the less-fortunate. Recipients included HART (Home Assistance Referral Team); Care and Share food pantry; Heart, Love & Soul food pantry; and Messiah Lutheran Church.

Lewiston-Porter High School senior Ava Wylke, center, was recognized with the Jr. Community Quarterback Award for her work in raising awareness and funds for The Ronald McDonald House in Buffalo. Through her fundraiser at Queen B's Cottage - and from donations from family, friends, local businesses, and the kindness of complete strangers - she raised $5,150.

The Lewiston Christmas Walk weekend concluded Sunday night with the Lewiston Lights Parade down Center Street. This festive capper, organized by the Upward Niagara Chamber of Commerce, featured first responders, local businesses, dance and marching units, and, of course, Santa Claus.

The New York Power Authority will hold its annual "Deck the Halls" holiday celebration on Saturday, Dec. 14, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., at the Niagara Power Vista - the visitors center for the Niagara Power Project. New York Power Authority fishing facilities, including the fishing pier, shoreline stairway and lower parking area at the base of the New York Power Authority's Robert Moses Niagara Power Plant, will close for the season at dusk Sunday, Dec. 1. The fishing pier near the Upper Mountain Fire Co., at the Lewiston Reservoir, at the water intakes along the upper Niagara River, will also close for the season.
