The Taste of Buffalo presented by Tops announced Luke Baecker, CPA, CGMA, a fund administrator at Roofers Local No. 74 / 203 Benefit Funds, has been elected chair of the festival's board of directors. He will lead planning efforts for the 39th annual event, which takes place on July 9-10 along Delaware Avenue and Niagara Square in downtown Buffalo.

New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli is urging New Yorkers to spend the gift cards they received this holiday season in a timely fashion. If not, the money could eventually get turned over to the Office of Unclaimed Funds. In the past seven years, the amount returned to DiNapoli's office in unused gift cards has risen sharply from $5.8 million in 2014 to $16 million in 2021.
