Ransomville Speedway is in the process of finding the track's new promoter/general manager. Current GM Jenn Martin has taken on a new position and, in a mutual agreement with Ransomville Speedway management, will be vacating her position beginning June 1.

The "Little R" came to life on Thursday night as the SANY New York Go-Karts took to the speedway for the first time in 2021. SANY New York has signed on to be the presenting sponsor of the go-kart program at the "Little R" at Ransomville Speedway.

Ransomville Speedway hosted its pre-tech session at the speedway on Sunday afternoon. Drivers representing all of Ransomville's weekly racing divisions took part to make sure their equipment is all set for the 2021 season.

Drivers will get their first opportunity to take their cars onto the track at the Ransomville Speedway on Friday, April 30, for "Test, Tune, and Time," presented by VP Racing Fuels. A 55-gallon drum of VP Racing Fuel will be presented to the pole winners in the Krown Undercoating Modifieds and Investor's Service Sportsman divisions.

Ransomville Speedway will host a pre-tech inspection day from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Sunday, April 25, at the speedway. This pre-tech inspection day will be for competitors in the Krown Undercoating Modifieds, Investors Service Sportsman, Ki-Po Motors Street Stocks, Sunflowers of Sanborn Mini Stocks, and Kevin's Carpet Cleaning Novice Sportsman.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Monday announced trout fishing season in New York opens Thursday, April 1. In preparation for opening day, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation is stocking 1.8 million catchable trout in waters across the state. In addition to larger-size fish being stocked this year, some stream reaches will receive four stockings of trout.

Season passes for 2021 municipal golf in Buffalo are now available for the three Olmsted Parks golf courses (Cazenovia, Delaware and South Park). Passes can be purchased online at any time through the conservancy's website, or in-person at the course golf shops during weekends in April.

The executive committee of Section VI has voted to postpone the start date for the winter season's low- and moderate-risk sports to Jan. 4, 2021. In a morning session, the committee paused boys and girls bowling, rifle, indoor track, boys swim and skiing from the previously chosen date of Dec. 14.
