Representatives from Price Rite Marketplace and the University at Buffalo football team donated 43 "sacks" of food to New Beginnings Food Pantry on Tuesday at Price Rite Marketplace of Amherst. The donation was a result of the football team's 43 sacks this season and included canned goods, fresh produce, rice, pasta and water.
Early education starts for Niagara-Wheatfield

Pre-K is starting up for Niagara-Wheatfield School District. To be held at the Bunny Bunch Day Care, the classes have already filled 120 spaces in nine classes, but there are 21 slots remaining for parents to register their children. Best of all, the classes are free.
State Parks seeks lifeguards

The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation announced four lifeguard qualifying procedures are scheduled in the Niagara Region for the 2020 season. HS Hoops: Wolverines slide by Gayle-less Lancers

Tuesday night, the Lewiston-Porter Lancers faced the Niagara Falls Wolverines on the hardwood without their star sophomore Roddy Gayle. Gayle was on the bench for the Lancers' battle, as he nursed an injury. And while most people counted L-P out in his absence, the Lancers gave the Wolverines everything they had. Despite the efforts, the Wolverines prevailed, 71-67, behind big nights from Taylor Sanders and Bryce Smith.

The Merrell Lane Memorial Aviation Scholarship was established in memory of Merrell Lane, co-founder and the first chairman of the Niagara Military Affairs Council (NIMAC). Each year, NIMAC awards a $1,500 scholarship to a well-deserving enlisted member assigned to the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station who has shown an interest in the aviation field.

Congressman Brian Higgins announced Buffalo State's Patricia H. and Richard E. Garman Art Conservation Department will receive a $350,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities for preservation education and training. The three-year grant extends from 2020-22.

The Lewiston-Porter Lancers felt the affects of playing in Niagara-Wheatfield's gym Tuesday night, but as good teams do, the Lancers were able to overcome an early stumble. Lew-Port defeated the Niagara-Wheatfield Falcons, 80-51, Tuesday, in a game that was close for the first 16 to 17 minutes.
