The Academy announced its board of governors voted Saturday to present honorary awards to David Lynch, Wes Studi and Lina Wertmüller, and the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award to Geena Davis. The four Oscar statuettes will be presented at the Academy's 11th annual Governors Awards on Sunday, Oct. 27, at the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland Center.

The Historic Palace Theatre has received a $300,000 grant from the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation in support of its "Act II - A Grand Restoration" renovation project. This gift will support the Palace's larger $2.8 million "Act II" project, which is already underway, with renovations to the outer lobby, and restoration and repairs to interior plaster completed last October.
