Sahlen Packing Co. is honored to have its name on what first was called Pilot Field in downtown Buffalo, New York, just minutes away from our home on Howard Street. Few people from the Sahlen family would have guessed - when we agreed to a 10-year naming rights agreement nearly 30 years after Sahlen Field opened - that our name would be associated to this extent with that of a Major League Baseball team's home. But if 2020 has taught us anything, it's that anything is possible.

Freeform's anticipated limited series "Love in the Time of Corona" will premiere as a special two-night limited event, beginning Saturday, Aug. 22 (8 p.m. EST/PST) and continuing Sunday, Aug. 23 (8 p.m.), the network announced Monday in the first teaser trailer for the series. The episodes will also be available on Hulu the following day.

We are currently reviewing the reopening requirements and how the capacity restrictions will impact the reopening of our casino properties. For this reason, Fallsview Casino Resort and Casino Niagara will not be reopening on Friday, July 24.

Arts Services Initiative of Western New York Inc. recently announced it awarded a total of 154 emergency grants - amounting to $235,640 total - through its WNY Arts Emergency Relief Fund. The fund, which opened on May 1, in response to COVID-19's devastating impact on Western New York's arts and cultural sector, supported 86 of the region's arts and cultural organizations and 68 of its individual artists, with the average grant amount of $2,262 per organization and $642 per individual.

Not many of us remember the "golden age of radio" (1930s to 1940s), but Don Lange, 37-year veteran of Buffalo radio does. Don began his radio career at the original WEBR radio in 1941, and was later promoted to chief engineer. He retired in 1978 ... and oh, the stories he can tell about old-time radio! Shortly after retiring, Don began the huge task of rebuilding the Wurlitzer organ at the Riviera Theater in North Tonawanda.
