Relay For Life to hold an in-person event

The Erie County Department of Public Works Highways' Division announced the initial 2021 program of county roads identified for repairs, including roads in each of the county's five highway districts, with mill and overlay work designated for several roads that sustained damage over the winter along with an extensive pavement preservation program for roads in outlying areas.

Barring a monumental miracle by June 1, the Toronto Blue Jays will again call downtown Buffalo's Sahlen Field home. The Canadian government has yet to grant them approval to return to the Rogers Centre. With COVID-19 cases on the rise in Canada, and Ontario recently entering another lockdown, it is unlikely the Jays will return to the field they last called home in 2019 anytime soon.

Jennifer Leah Buckley, a resident of Grand Island for 14 years, passed away on Jan. 14, 2021, after a long battle with an illness. Born on Aug. 6, 1964, she passed too soon at the age of 56. She is survived by her mother, Janice Piepke of Umatilla, Florida; her partner, Dean Morakis of Grand Island; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
