NYSERDA: Nearly $14.5 million awarded to round 3 winners of Commercial and Industrial Carbon Challenge

The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority recently announced nearly $14.5 million in awards to the third-round winners of the Commercial and Industrial (C&I) Carbon Challenge as part of the Regional Economic Development Council Initiative Consolidated Funding Application (CFA) Round XI awards announced by Gov. Kathy Hochul last week.

NCCC increases online learning options

Niagara County Community College is responding to the growing need for flexible learning options through online degree and certificate programs, as well as HyFlex classes. It stated, "The trend to move toward remote learning options accelerated during the COVID-19 pandemic, and remains a strong solution for students who are unable to adhere to a traditional in-person class schedule."
Higgins seeking applicants for 2022 internships

State Parks seeks lifeguards for 2022

Niagara County Department of Health releases update to quarantine requirements

Based on New York State Department of Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance, the Niagara County Department of Health is announcing a change to its COVID-19 quarantine requirements. Effective immediately, Niagara County will implement the "test out of quarantine" strategy for all county residents.

New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Commissioner Basil Seggos announced the release of a proposal to "clarify and simplify" sportfishing regulations based on public feedback and DEC fisheries manager reviews of rules associated with the management of the state's fisheries. The proposed rulemaking also includes a limited number of waterbody-specific regulation changes to support improved management of these waters.

Niagara County accepting grant applications for small business COVID-19 funds

Niagara County Legislator Rich Andres, chairman of the Economic Development Committee, on Monday announced applications are now available for Niagara County's COVID Relief for Small Business Grant program. Niagara County was awarded $1 million in state Community Development Block Grant CARES Act funding for the program, which will be administered by the Niagara County Industrial Development Agency.
