When every second counts, blood products can provide lifesaving care. The American Red Cross asks the public to give blood or platelets during Trauma Awareness Month in May to keep hospitals prepared for all transfusion needs, including emergencies. Type O blood donors and donors giving platelets are especially needed right now:

Vehicle reported stolen ends up crashed in Town of Lewiston

At 7:52 a.m. Monday, the Niagara County Communications Center received 911 calls reporting a two-vehicle accident, and one of the involved vehicles also striking a utility pole. The accident was reported to be in the area of Bond Lake on Lower Mountain Road in the Town of Lewiston.
Hurley, Long named winners of 57th Hewitt Scholar/Athlete Awards

Quinn Hurley of Starpoint High School and Matthew Long of Lewiston-Porter High School were named winners of the 57th Thomas E. Hewitt Scholar/Athlete Awards. Each received a $2,500 scholarship. The awards were presented by the board of associates of Mount St. Mary's Hospital in a ceremony held at the Niagara Frontier Golf Club. The program was sponsored by the Mount St Mary's Hospital Foundation.

Voter turnout was steady all day, unlike the presidential primary, when approximately 50 people came to vote. People who live in two election districts vote at the library.
