A Town of Porter family received a rude awakening Wednesday morning, as a Newfane man recently paroled after serving time for robbery, forced his way into their home at 1058 Youngstown-Lockport Road. The man proceeded to hold a man and his wife hostage and engaged in a violent struggle being before subdued by responding officers.

The event will be held Sept. 15-16 at the Niagara Falls Country Club. WM reports it expects to raise about $300,000 from this event.

Niagara County physician practices receive $60,000 in funding to convert to electronic medical records

Niagara Family Medicine Associates, a primary care physician group with offices in Niagara Falls and Lewiston, and Dr. Ronald Clark, DO, of Family Medicine in Niagara Falls, are the first Niagara County physician practices to receive funding for the purchase and implementation of an electronic medical record system through a new program administered by HEALTHeLINK, Western New York's clinical information exchange. Funded by BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York, Independent Health and Univera Healthcare, the program is designed to help Western New York physicians acquire and implement EMRs in order to enhance safety and improve clinical quality for their patients.
