Lew-Port varsity soccer teams up with local food pantry

On Thursday, Sept. 29, the Lewiston-Porter boys varsity soccer team will conduct a canned food drive to benefit the Ransomville Community Services Food Pantry. All fans attending the game are encouraged to bring at least one non-perishable food item with them that evening. Donation bins will be placed outside the main gates at Elia Stadium prior to the 6:30 p.m. game versus Kenmore West.
Frontier Lanes reopens after storm damage

Village of Lewiston Mayor Terry Collesano announced a public forum on Artpark - specifically its "Tuesday in the Park" concert series - will take place Tuesday, Oct. 4. Assemblyman John Ceretto has called the meeting. It will run from 6 until 7:30 p.m. at the Red Brick Municipal Building, 145 N. Fourth St.

When my friend Kate invited me on a trip to Pamplona for the San Fermin Festival (or "Running of the Bulls," as we refer to it), with her brother, Patrick, and his girlfriend, Leyla, I couldn't pack my white clothes and red scarf fast enough! In preparation for the trip I hopped on Amazon.com and bought all the Pamplona books I could find (a grand total of three). Each described the all-night parties, the all-white attire, and bacchanalian nature of the festival, but none prepared me (and us) for the realities of Pamplona.
